In 1878 the new Teatro de Rojas was inaugurated, which takes its name from the Toledo playwright Francisco de Rojas Zorrilla with an initial project by Luis Antonio Fenech and continued with reforms by Ramiro Amador de los Ríos and was inaugurated on October 19 of that year and which also consists of lifting machinery for the armchair and scuba deck on the stage performed by Egidio Pícolli or the Gala Curtain of the mouthpiece of the Madrid workshop of Bussato, Bonardi and Valls.

Between 1985 and 1989, the Teatro de Rojas received the Public Theater Rehabilitation Plan, reopening after its rehabilitation and with its current appearance in May 1989.
