On a visit to the Imperial City, you will always have the best welcome in Zocodover Square.

It was the architect Juan de Herrera who designed the irregular layout of the Plaza de Zocodover commissioned by Felipe II. The place was already chosen since Roman times, although it was the Arabs who gave name to the future square. Zocodover means beast market and represents the commercial function that this point exerted since its foundation.

Today is the center of tourists and Toledo meeting. The buildings surrounding the square are full of restaurants, fashion stores and souvenir shops. Banks are always full of people waiting for their appointment and tourist guides receive visitors under the shade of Zocodover trees.
